BIG HEAVEN
Hunkering down at home provides an opportunity to catch up on reading! Savant Book and Publications Suggests Charlotte Hebert's Coming-of-Age Novel, "Big Heaven"

BIG HEAVEN explores the issues of having to face responsibilities in life—even when you feel you’re too young to face them—and of figuring out the things in life that matter most.

5.0 out of 5 stars - Mo speaks to all of us - If you've ever been a teenager with big dreams--and big family burdens preventing you from acting on your dreams--you'll probably love this book. Mo is newly motherless, alone in the world, trying to take care of her demented father. And it's all too much for her, as it would be for anyone. I was on her side from the get-go!
Excerpt:
Chapter 1
Shoot. He's there. I can see through the window. Not that I should be surprised, for he's always there (at least since my mom died, he is). It means that I'll have to sneak in, try and rush straight to my room in order to meditate.
Let me back up a bit. My name is Maureen (Mo for short); I'm sixteen, but I'm going to be a senior this fall 'cause my birthday's in September, so I'm really almost seventeen; and I've decided, only tonight, that I'm going to be a nun of the Swami Order, which has its origins in India. That's why I'm starting my story right here, by the way. You have to begin with a hook is what I figure. This is mine…(Becoming a nun is a pretty big deal, you have to admit!)

3. Featured AUTHOR:
RAYMOND GAYNOR

Raymond Gaynor is the pen-name of the multi-award-winning, reclusive writer-artist-photographer-videographer, who, in his own words, "lives and breathes" San Francisco. He co-authored with William Maltese on the Tripler and Clarke gay political thriller, TOTAL MELTDOWN (Borgo/Wildside 2009) and with A. G. Hayes on the fifth Koski & Falk adventure, QUANTUM DEATH (Savant 2016). He is the author of numerous fiction and non-fiction works published under a variety of different pseudonyms. THE EDGE OF MADNESS (Aignos 2020) is his first totally authored work, so "edgy" it had to have a new genre (SCI-FU; science-based futuring) invented to contain it!
