SUBMISSIONS & PUBLICATION
Submitting a Work for Publication

Publish with Savant Books and Publications  Savant Books and Publications is a hybrid publishing and development company dedicated to helping serious authors transform their manuscripts into professionally developed, market-ready works.

We work with authors at multiple stages—from early drafts to completed manuscripts—providing structured development, publishing, and long-term positioning support. For select projects, we also explore pathways toward film and television adaptation.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

We seek high-quality, original works with strong storytelling, clear purpose, and lasting value.

Areas of Interest Include:

  • Fiction: All genres, with emphasis on character-driven and experience-based narratives
  • Non-Fiction: Memoirs, transformational works, educational content, and restructured academic material for general audiences
  • Children’s Books & Workbooks: Especially those incorporating interactive or educational elements
  • Screenplay-Based Projects: Novels with strong adaptation potential or full screenplays

OUR PROCESS

We do not operate as a traditional submission-only publisher.

Instead, we offer a structured development and publication pathway designed to elevate your work to a professional standard before release.

Step 1: Submission & Review

Submit your manuscript or concept for initial consideration.

Step 2: Development (If Accepted)

Selected authors may be invited into our Manuscript Development Program, where we work directly with you to:

  • Strengthen your narrative and structure
  • Refine language and flow
  • Prepare your work for publishing and market positioning

(Development services are offered under a separate agreement and fee structure.)

Step 3: Publication Option

Upon completion of development, authors may be offered the opportunity to publish through Savant Books and Publications under a separate Publication Agreement.

This includes multi-format distribution (print, digital, and additional formats where applicable).

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Savant Books and Publications operates as a hybrid publishing and development company
  • Development and publication services are not free and are offered through structured agreements
  • Authors retain full ownership of their work
  • Participation in development does not guarantee publication, and publication is offered at our discretion

INTERNATIONAL AUTHORS

(Keep your existing tax section, just clean it slightly—don’t remove it)

International authors are welcome.
However, all authors must comply with U.S. tax regulations, including obtaining an SSN, EIN, or ITIN where required.

Additional documentation such as IRS Form W-8BEN may be necessary to determine withholding tax rates.

We will provide guidance where possible, but authors are responsible for completing all required documentation with the IRS.

HOW TO SUBMIT

To be considered, please submit the following:

  • Author name and contact information
  • Title of your work
  • Manuscript status (concept, draft, completed)
  • Genre and target audience
  • Brief synopsis (1–2 paragraphs)
  • Any previous publishing or writing experience (if applicable)

👉 Submit your work here: www.savantbooks@gmail.com

Publication Fees

Publication and distribution services are offered separately from manuscript development and require a one-time publication fee.

Authors who elect to publish through Savant Books and Publications will enter into a separate Publication Agreement outlining the scope of services, distribution, and royalty structure.

Current Publication Pathway Fee: $1,750.00

This fee covers:

  • Multi-format publication (print, digital, and applicable formats)
  • Professional formatting and production preparation
  • ISBN assignment and metadata registration

Publication is an optional next step and is offered to authors whose work meets Savant’s standards for release.

Neither SBAP nor AP require that the submitter be represented by an agent.

SPECIAL NOTE TO AUTHORS, RECORDING ARTISTS,
AUDIO-VIDEO MEDIA CREATORS AND PROSPECTIVE SAVANT STAFF

WITHOUT A U. S. SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (SSN)
OR EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (EIN)

Current taxation laws and regulations require that people or companies that do not have a current U. S. Social Security Number (SSN) or U. S. Employer Identification Number (EIN) obtain a U. S. ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) using a Form W-7 [download form and instructions at

and enter "W-7"]. You will have to fill out the form, provide any required documents and send them directly to the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to obtain an ITIN. To be contracted, you will be required to provide Savant Books and Publications with a current U. S. SSN, EIN or ITIN.

You may also be asked consider the rate of gross royalty tax withholdings. The standard withholding rate for non-U. S. citizens who do not have a U. S. SSN or U. S. EIN is 30% of royalties. The United States, however, may have an established taxation treaty with your country that allows for a lower or even no withholding of taxes
. If you wish to claim this lower withholding tax, then you must also fill out a Form W-8BEN [download form and instructions at

and enter "W-8BEN"]. Savant Books and Publications requires a completed Form W-8BEN in order to withhold royalty or contract payments at a lower tax treaty rate.

In addition, if contracted, at the end of each calendar year, you will need to file a U. S. income tax report with the IRS (usually sometime between 1 Jan and 1 April) in order to pay any additional taxes or to receive a partial or full refund of royalty tax withholdings.

In some instances, these tasks can be simple, quick and involve little expense. In others, it can be difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. In some instances, especially in the case of low sales of expensive-to-publish products, even after successfully receiving an ITIN and Form W-8BEN, royalty withholding taxes can end up exceeding net royalties for up to a year to a year and a half, thus delaying receipt of your first net royalty check for that time or even longer.

It is important that you consider the above carefully before submitting a work to Savant Books and Publications or its imprint, Aignos Publishing. Thus far, we are successfully supporting several non-U. S. authors, recording artists/groups, audio-video media creation groups and staff. If you do not have a U. S. SSN or U. S. EIN and are still interested in pursuing publication with Savant Books and Publications, we will make every possible effort to assist you through the above as needed; however, YOU MUST FILL OUT, COMPLETE ALL FORMS, AND PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION DIRECTLY TO THE U. S. IRS.  If you do not have a U. S. SSN or U. S. EIN and do not plan to get either, then do not submit a work for publication to Savant Books and Publications or its imprint, Aignos Publications.
