I was recently asked by Ms. Connie Dunn for an interview regarding my experiences as a publisher and advice to contemporary authors. It's seldom I enjoy an interview as much as this one which I gladly share with you:

INTRODUCING DR. SUZANNE LANGFORD, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Posted by Daniel S. on Monday, May 5, 2014, In : Editor-in-Chief
Several postings ago, I had the pleasure of introducing Dr. Suzanne Langford as a Savant editor. Since then she's not only been busy editing, but has served successfully as an interim Editor-in-Chief. Now, I'm pleased to announce her appointment to the position of Editor-in-Chief. No "interim" anymore.

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) job at Savant Books and Publications is a complex and demanding one. Not only does it require knowledge and experience with editing, but it also involves selection of w...

Four New Savant Editors and One New Proofreader

Posted by Daniel S. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, In : Publishing
2013's been a busy year for Savant Books and Publications (SBAP), Savant Bookstore Honolulu (SBH) and Savant Distribution (SD). We fully expect to fill a good porti...

AUTHORS AND OTHERS

That isn't to say that all potential or seasoned authors think this way, but a growing number of new; young writers seem to. In the world of publishing, there are many writers, and likewise wh...

PUTTING ON THE SPELL

Posted by Daniel S. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, In : major events
These days, in today's world of publishing, "getting published" and having one's book appear on a wide variety of established sales channels has gotten much easier, while garnering author name and book title recognition so interested readers can locate an author's work has gotten much harder. While publishers struggle with the vastly increased approaches to publication including self-, vanity, POD (print on demand), electronic and traditional publishing models, distributors for ways to identi...

Savant Partners with GoogleBooks and Google eBooks

Posted by Daniel S. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, In : major events
Aloha from sunny Honolulu, the heart of the literary explosion called "Savant Books and Publications."  During 2010, Savant released 18 books, and we have 12 more in various stages of pre-release for early 2011. That's a lot for a small publisher, but it's also garnered us the attention to progress our marketing and publicity efforts to the next level.

Savant is now partnered with GoogleBooks and Google eBooks.  What does this mean? Well, first off, they contacted us, and I believe that's due...
