Tony Tame was
born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1943. His mother was a native Jamaican and his
father was "technically" an Englishman who arrived on the island with their
baby in arms. An only "island" child, he naturally assumed that simply
by being born he had done all that could reasonably be assumed would be required
of him in life.
